About
Welcome. We are a group of Corvette owners and enthusiasts who enjoy giving back to the community, having fun, talking about cars, and showing off our Vettes. Membership in the National Afro- American Corvette Club (NAACC) is open to all Corvette owners regardless of Race, Color or Religion. The NAACC is pleased to announce its official affiliation with Chevrolet.
Chapters. The NAACC is a Nationwide club chartering chapters all over the United States. Currently we have chapters in Bakerfield CA, Houston TX, Philadelphia PA and New York/New Jersey. If you live in one of those cities, review the website for cruise nites info and meetings. We want to build a chapter in your city. All that is needed is four Corvette owners. Contact us and we will walk you through how to build a chapter.
History. Every February there is a Corvette show in Houston Texas. It is a fairly large show and attracts Corvette owners and vendors from all over the country. Local clubs show their cars and solicit new members. The Founders of the NAACC each attended this event every year. While the temptation to join one of these clubs was great, none of the Founders had taken that step. At the time they were strangers. But the Corvette hobby brought them together.
By winter of 2002 the friendships had been made and the idea of our own club was discussed casually. That year some of the people at the show were asked for contact information. The following year a more comprehensive list was made. When the show began accepting entries for 2004, three cars were entered as members of the NAACC. The purpose of entering cars in the show was to publicize the club. We worked the crowd and got the names of several potential members. Many signed up on the spot. We were now a club!
To our delight, one of our cars won the coveted People’s Choice Award!
In the months that followed, the Founders and new members worked to lay the foundation of the club. By Laws, Application, Website, Logo, were hammered out while we still took time to go Rollin. In our very first road trip, seventeen Corvettes cruised over sixty miles.
At the request of a local High School, we had our first static display. The Willowridge Band was raising funds for a trip to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii. This gave us our first opportunity to make a contribution to a worthy cause. We passed the hat and made a considerable donation to the Band.
Within 9 months the membership was over thirty, with members in four states. Today we have almost 200 members in seven states. The potential is mind boggling. Join us and you will soon understand our slogan.
DON’T BE A CORVETTE OWNER – BE A CORVETTE ENTHUSIAST!
